VOC Concentrator

VOC Concentrator (Volatile Organic Compounds Concentrator) is a system or device used to collect and increase the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOC) vapors from a large air stream with low concentrations, converting it into an air stream with higher VOC concentrations. The concentrated VOC stream can then be efficiently treated or utilized further.

Working Principle

1. Adsorption Phase

Exhaust air with low VOC concentrations is passed through an adsorbent material (such as activated carbon or zeolite). The VOCs are captured on the surface of the adsorbent while the cleaned air is released.

2. Desorption Phase

Hot air or an inert gas (sometimes steam) is passed through the adsorbent. The VOCs stored on the adsorbent are released, resulting in an air stream with higher VOC concentrations.

3. Treatment/Recovery Phase

The concentrated VOC stream is typically sent to an oxidizer system (such as an RTO – Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer) for combustion and destruction. In some industries, the VOCs—particularly solvents—may be recovered and reused.
